Buying a work of art
Paintings are priced according to our view of the current market value, in line with the prices of comparable works of equivalent quality by the same or a similar artist, either recently sold at auction or on the private art market. We guarantee authenticity, unlike the principle auction houses, and opperate in accordance with retail laws, current art historical scholarship and the upmost professional practices. We provide documentation, provenance and a condition report, supplied by the painting’s conservator, for any work of art or alternatively, the purchaser may name a conservator of their choice to examine the work on their behalf.
Selling a work of art
We sell consigned works of art on clients’ behalf on a commission basis, charged by us to the seller at 4% to 10%, depending on the value of the object consigned (unlike auction houses who charge both the buyer and seller commissions between 15% and 45%). Should the vendor wish an immediate sale, the gallery also buys works of art for inventory.
