We are delighted that Middlebury College Museum of Art have acquired a new Gerome oil on canvas sketch entitled Le derviche Tourneur. The Museum’s collection includes both Asian and western art from the fourth millennium B.C.E. to the present and permanent installations of antiquities, Asian art, and American and European painting and sculpture from the Renaissance through the nineteenth century....

17 - 20 OCTOBER 2013 Stair Sainty are pleased to be exhibiting at this year’s Frieze Masters, which will feature over 120 of the world’s leading galleries across areas and eras. The fair aims to present a contemporary perspective on historical art and is housed in a bespoke temporary structure designed by Selldorf Architects located in the unique setting of Regent’s Park, London. Stair Sainty will show 19th and early-20th century works byGustave Caillebotte, Emile-René Ménard, Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer, Federico Beltrán-Masses, Jacques-Emile Blanche, and Jean-Francois Raffaelli, in addition to Old Master paintings by Jean Lemaire, a close friend and colleague of Poussin, and Pierre-Charles Le Mettay and Jean-Honoré Fragonard – both pupils of Boucher. Masterpiece London: 27 JUNE - 3 JULY 2013 We would like to welcome you to London in the coming weeks for Masterpiece London 2013. Enlivened by dining from Le Caprice and The Ivy, and now in its fourth year, the fair returns to showcase exquisite fine art, antiques and design. This nude by Henri Lerolle is one of a number of modern works the gallery will exhibit; we shall also present a room of paintings by the 1920’s Spanish artist Federico Beltrán-Masses, several of which are new to the market and have never been to auction. A stunning Delaroche, Enfants d\'Edouard (Edward V and the Duke of York) is a famous image known in the Wallace Collection as The Princes in the Tower. Our painting was exhibited at the New Orleans and Taft Museums in the 1990s and more recently in exhibitions at museums in Marseille and Ontario. 15 - 24 March 2013TEFAF Maastricht 2013 again brings together the highest quality of objects in each of its represented fields. This year Stair Sainty is pleased to be exhibiting important Old Master paintings by Melchior De Hondecoeter and Pierre Subleyras, a magnificent view of Rome by Henri-Joseph Harpignies, shown at the Salon of 1865, and a sparkling en plain air oil study of Benares and the Ganges river by Edwin Lord Weeks that dates from his first trip to India.
