Here is a ‘home video’ by our director, Guy Sainty, of our stand at TEFAF Maastricht 2017.

Salomé and Oscar Wilde, September 14

The 1923 film Salomé, of the play by Oscar Wilde, was directed by Charles Bryant and produced by Alla Nazimova (who played the role of Salomé), with sets and costumes by Natacha Rambova, 2nd wife of Rudolf Valentino, a close personal friend of the painter Federico Beltran Masses. Rambova’s designs were based on drawings by Aubrey Beardsley. Here we show scenes from the film alongside paintings of Salomé by Pierre Amédée Marcel-Béronneau and Federico Beltran Masses.
